Why brushing alone doesn't stop mats
A slicker brush grooms the top coat, but mats start underneath, close to the skin. Pulling a brush through a knot hurts, so many pets learn to avoid grooming. This comb has two sides: open the knot first, then lift the loose undercoat.

- Wide-tooth side: works through knots and small mats in short strokes.

How to use
- Hold the fur near the skin and work the wide-tooth side through a mat in short strokes.
- Flip to the fine-tooth side and comb with the grain.
- Pull the fur off the comb, rinse and dry.

Dogs and cats with medium-to-long or double coats. It isn't made for short, smooth coats. Severe mats that are matted to the skin need a professional groomer.
